How to get here
Driving from Athens
To reach Portaria by car, follow the Athens-Lamia-Thessaloniki National Road. The turning is about halfway along the route. Portaria itself is about 340 kilometers from Athens. The journey lasts approximately 3 hours and 35 minutes. On the National Road, follow the signs towards Anchialos. After Anchialos, follow the signs towards Velestino. 4 kilometres before you reach Volos, follow the ring road leading to Portaria. It is approximately a 25-minute drive.
Driving from Thessaloniki
To reach Portaria by car, follow the Athens-Lamia-Thessaloniki National Road. The turning is about halfway along the route. Portaria is about 220 kilometers from Thessaloniki. The journey lasts roughly 2½ hours. On the National Road you will see a sign for the turning to Velestino, 4 km before you reach Volos. Follow the ring road that leads you to Portaria, which takes about 25 minutes.

By train

By plane
In the summer months there are direct international flights to the airports of Nea Anchialos (Volos) and Skiathos.
